Thousands of homes are without power today after yesterday’s wild storms, making working from home a challenge.

Endeavour Energy – which covers the Blue Mountains, western Sydney, Illawarra and South Coast, said 31,894 of their customers were affected by power outages.

Ausgrid, which covers much of Sydney including the northern suburbs, Central Coast and Newcastle, said over 90,000 customers were without power.

The main impacted areas include: 66,000 in Newcastle (coastal areas, Raymond Terrace, Port Stephens, Tomago), 31,000 in Sydney (northern suburbs, Hornsby, Pennant Hills) and 4000 on the Central Coast (Copacabana, MacMasters Beach).

Essential Energy, which services regional parts of NSW, said 29,000 customers were without power at 7.30pm last night.

Outages are also affecting some NBN customers in Ryde.
